
Kota Kinabalu: Tambunan is the latest district to be declared a flood disaster area, while the flood situation in Beaufort is reported to have worsene, officals said.
A spokesman for the Sabah State Disaster Management Secretariat (JPBN) said that so far, 13 victims from four families have been evacuated to the Tambunan Community Hall while 232 victims were in Beaufort.
AdvertisementThis brought to four the number of districts declared flood disaster areas in Sabah to date, including Keningau and Kinabatangan, with the number of victims increasing to 629 as of noon today compared to 608 this morning.
“In Keningau, there are still 132 victims in two [evacuation centres] as of noon today, while in Kinabatangan, the number of victims has decreased by one to 252 so far,” he said.

Read more The official also said the number of residents evacuated in Beaufort increased to 232 victims this afternoon, compared to 223 this morning.
The district was re-declared a disaster area today following the worsening flood situation since yesterday.
