Aston Villa sign striker Tammy Abraham from Besiktas for £18 million to boost their Premier League title and Europa League ambitions.

ASTON Villa have completed the signing of striker Tammy Abraham from Besiktas to strengthen their squad for a surprise Premier League title push.

The club will pay a reported £18 million for the 28-year-old, who returns to Villa Park after a successful loan spell in 2019.

Villa currently sit just four points behind league leaders Arsenal as they chase a first top-flight crown since 1981.

Unai Emery’s side are also considered strong contenders for this season’s Europa League trophy.

Abraham expressed his delight at returning, stating, “Some clubs play a big part in your journey and stay with you.”

“I’m back at Aston Villa, ready to work and give everything.”

The striker previously scored 26 goals in 40 games to help Villa secure promotion from the Championship during his earlier loan from Chelsea.

He left Chelsea permanently in 2021 for Roma, where he won the Conference League before injuries hampered his progress in Italy.

Abraham moved to Besiktas last July, scoring 13 times in 26 appearances prior to this transfer.
