Tamparuli collision: Six hurt

TAMPARULI: Six people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision involving a Toyota Hiace van and a Proton Saga along Jalan Tamparuli-Ranau near Kampung Togop, here, last Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred at about 2.45pm. All victims, whose identities were not immediately known, were reported to be in stable condition.

Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station Chief Senior Fire Superintendent, Mohammad Nor Amit, said they received a distress call at 2.47pm and dispatched a team of six personnel, including an officer, to the scene.

“All six victims were handed over to Health Ministry (KKM) and Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel before being sent to Tuaran Hospital for further treatment,” he said.

Firefighters also conducted safety checks on both vehicles and the surrounding area to rule out other hazards.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. The operation ended at 3.40pm.
