TANDUAY Distillers Inc., the spirits arm of Lucio Tan-led LT Group Inc., said several of its premium products had earned top honors at an international spirits competition, reinforcing its push to position the brand in the global premium rum segment.
The company said five of its rums were recognized at the International Spirits Competition organized by Enthusiast Report Magazine, with Tanduay Double Rum receiving a Double Gold award.
Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years, Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, and Tanduay Reserve Rum Overproof received gold medals while Tanduay Asian Rum Silver bagged a silver medal.
“These awards demonstrate that Tanduay’s production standards are consistent across our different rum profiles and our strict quality controls,” said Roy Kristoffer Sumang, Tanduay's international business development manager.
Tanduay said the recognition supported its efforts to expand overseas as it competes with established global brands in higher-value segments of the liquor market.
Founded in 1854, the company in recent years had been ramping up its international presence by leveraging its heritage and product quality to gain wider acceptance in the global market.
Tanduay added it remained focused on maintaining consistent quality as it grows its footprint abroad.
“As Tanduay continue[s] to grow our presence internationally, we remain focused on upholding the quality standards that have defined our brand for generations,” Sumang said.
Shares of parent firm LT Group closed up P0.10, or 0.67 percent, on Thursday.
