Kota Kinabalu: Tawau's flash floods disrupted traffic on major roads and in the town's low-lying areas on Friday.

A post in Facebook group 8hannels at 3.47pm urged road users to exercise caution as some roads had become submerged.

“Some sections of the road are no longer passable, so drivers are advised to take temporary detours,” the post said.

Photos accompanying the post show vehicles driving through waterlogged streets.

Fortunately, at 4.34 pm, the Facebook page informed in the comments section that the floodwaters had receded.

One netizen commented that luckily it was the school holiday, indicating that the situation might have been worse if schools had been in session.
