TAWAU: Four family members in Kg Ranggu, near here, were evacuated to safety after their house was flooded due to persistent rain since 6am, Sunday.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Jemishin Ujin said a team of seven officers and personnel were dispatched to the location after receiving a 9.54am distress call.

He said the family requested assistance evacuating after their home was swamped by flooding.

“The victims comprised two women and two young girls,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 10.38am.

Apart from Ranggu, flooding also affected Kg Rawa-Rawa Batu 4 Jalan Apas, Batu 2 Jalan Apas, Jalan Sin Onn and Tanjung Batu Keramat.
