PAPAR: The Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) were crowned champions of the 2024 Sabah Ministry of Local Government and Housing Minister’s Cup 11-A-Side Football Championship (KBS11S) with Putatan District Council (MDP) the runners-up, while in joint third place were hosts Papar District Council (MDP) and Sipitang District Council (MDS).
The tournament, which was participated by 14 teams from various Local Authorities (PBT) in Sabah, culminated with an awards ceremony at the Datuk Salleh Sulong Hall, Papar on Thursday night.
AdvertisementThe ceremony was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister II and Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam.
In his speech, Dr. Joachim expressed his appreciation to all the teams that competed and the organising committee for their hard work.

He also praised the cooperation of all parties in making this tournament a success, while emphasising that events like this not only promote a healthy lifestyle but also strengthen relationships between local authorities in Sabah.

Also present were representatives of the Papar MP Datuk Armizan Hj Mohd Ali, Limbahau Assemblyman, Datuk Juil Nuatim; Papar District Officer, Muhammad Hj Mohd Ali, Limbahau Community Development Leader, Datuk Johnny Mositun and Papar District Council Executive Officer who is also the Organising Chairman of KB11S Jaludin Abd Karim.
