Tawau murder: Two brothers spared death sentence, get five years' prison

Kota Kinabalu: Two brothers were sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty when presented at the Tawau High Court today on charges of causing the death of a plantation supervisor in Lahad Datu three years ago, it has been reported.

Judge Datuk Duncan Sikodol imposed the sentence on Al Nasir Abdullah, 27, and his younger brother, Al Dimal Abdullah, 22, for an alternative charge under Section 304 of the Penal Code (PC), Info X reported.

Both defendants were originally charged with the murder of Mark Aquino Conahap under Section 302 of the same code which carries the death penalty on conviction.
