
Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained two female Tawau Syariah Court employees suspected of asking for and accepting RM400 in bribes from members of the public in exchange for processing court orders.
According to sources, the women, one of them a civil servant, aged 50 and 38, were detained at the Tawau MACC office when they showed up to provide statements at 5.30pm, on Wednesday.
Sabah MACC Director Datuk S Karunanithy said the case is being probed under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
