Tawau to get 15,000 tourists, once Macau direct flight by AirAsia starts May 2

TAWAU: AirAsia is set to officially launch its direct flight from Macau to Tawau on May 2, adding new momentum to tourism and trade exchanges between Malaysia and China.

The route is operated by charter flights from Shenzhen Century Holiday Travel Group, with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Fridays, running from May 2 to April 30, 2026, providing travellers with a convenient travel option between the two destinations.

The flight numbers are AK7012 (Tawau to Macau, departure at 12.25pm, arrival at 3.45pm) and AK7013 (Macau to Tawau, departure at 4.20pm, arrival at 7.50pm).

The flights will be operated by AirAsia’s Airbus A320 aircraft, with a capacity of 186 passengers per flight. Travellers will enjoy 20kg of free checked baggage, 7kg of carry-on baggage and an in-flight meal.
