The Inland Revenue Board announces tax refunds for 2025 will be credited from March 2026, with faster processing for complete e-Filing submissions.
PUTRAJAYA: Tax refunds for eligible individual taxpayers will be credited in stages starting from the second week of March 2026.
The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) stated the refunds involve those who submitted the Income Tax Return Form (BNCP) for the 2025 Year of Assessment.
This follows the opening of e-Filing services which commenced on March 1.
In line with its Client’s Charter, the IRB said refunds for forms submitted via e-Filing will be processed within 30 working days.
For manually submitted forms, the processing period is up to 90 working days.
However, the board noted refunds can be processed earlier if the information submitted is complete and accurate.
This applies to cases that do not require further verification.
The IRB advised taxpayers to ensure their bank account information is accurate and up to date.
This is to ensure refunds can be processed smoothly without delay.
“The IRB is committed to continuously improving the delivery of services to taxpayers,” added the statement.
It also aims to ensure tax matters are carried out efficiently and effectively.
