Former Real Madrid midfielder Alvaro Benito has slammed Aurelien Tchouameni.

Benito was left unimpressed by the Frenchman in yesterday's win against Sevilla.

He said on Movistar Plus: "Tchouamni deserves more of a bench than (Luka) Modric.

"He has returned to play in his position and he seems to me to be the most inconsequential player for Real Madrid."

Against Sevilla, coach Carlo Ancelotti played Tchouamni in his natural position, in midfield, but ended up moving him to the centre of the defence after Modric came on for Nacho. A change that ended up leading to victory for Real Madrid with a goal from the veteran Croatian.
