Che Adams was delighted to score on his debut for Southampton.
The striker, signed from Birmingham City this summer, scored after 116 seconds during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Austrian side Altach.
"Obviously I'm delighted to score in my first game, but hopefully there's more to come," he said.
"I definitely could've had more as a striker you get greedy, but it's the first game. I just try to cause a threat to the defence and create chances.
"Thankfully one of those chances has gone in. I could've had two more, but on another day, they go in.
"I feel perfect. I've had a hard pre-season, but the lads have dug in well and we've got more games to come.
"I've learned a lot about the team and how the gaffer wants us to play."
