KOTA KINABALU: A 45-year-old teacher, Rosle Basas, was acquitted of a charge of sexually harassing his nine-year-old pupil after the Sessions Court ruled the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case.
Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim discharged Rosle without his defence being called. He was accused of touching the boy at a school classroom in August 2023.
The prosecution called five witnesses. Rosle faced four similar charges; two have been struck out without defence, while two remain ongoing.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Eugenie M. Gilbert appeared for the prosecution, while Zahir Shah represented Rosle.
