POLICE have opened an investigation into the spreading of a sex video clip related to the viral scandal involving a female teacher and a married technician in Alor Gajah.
Alor Gajah Police Chief, Ashari Abu Samah said the action was taken after the female teacher involved came forward to lodge a police report.
"An investigation has been opened under Section 509 of the Penal Code for the offence of defaming a person's modesty and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (AKMM).
"The teacher filed a report following her dissatisfaction when she found that a sex video of herself had been circulated.
"However, we have not been able to track down the sex video because it is believed to have been deleted from the mobile phone," he said.
He said the case will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions.
