Teachers in Shimla were apprised about innovative teaching practices and developing problem-solving abilities through Computational Thinking and AI-based learning during a District Level Deliberations Workshop on Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which was organised by the Loreto Convent Tara Hall School here on Saturday.

The programme witnessed the participation of educators from various schools of the district, including the host school, Saraswati Paradise International Public School Sanjauli, Trinity International School Fagu, Central school for Tibetan Chotta Shimla, Chandranahan Meadows Educational Institute Rohru and Central School for Tibetans, Shimla.

Parul Jhingta, BCA Faculty member at Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Shimla, Dr Priyanka, Assistant Professor Computer Applications, G.D.C Sanjauli, Shimla and Nivedita Bhardwaj, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science, St Bede’s Shimla served as the source persons in the workshop.

The different presenters explained the importance of CT and AI in present-day education and demonstrated different tools and activities that can be integrated into classroom teaching. This was followed by interactive sessions, group discussions and hands-on activities, during which participants discussed the role of AI in shaping the future of education and emphasised the need to equip students with digital and analytical skills.

The workshop concluded with a feedback session in which teachers appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to implement the learned strategies in their classrooms.
