GLOBAL technology companies announced new artificial intelligence (AI) software, infrastructure and mobile processors aimed at accelerating AI adoption across the Philippines, as demand grows from developers, enterprises and smartphone makers.
US chipmaker AMD said it is rolling out an optional AI Bundle within its Adrenalin Edition software to simplify local AI development on Windows systems. The bundle allows users to install a full AI environment with a single click, bundling tools such as PyTorch on Windows, ComfyUI, Ollama, LM Studio and Amuse. AMD said the move is designed to reduce setup complexity for developers, creators and students who want to run AI workloads locally rather than rely on cloud services.
The AI Bundle supports systems running select AMD Radeon RX 7700 series graphics cards or newer, as well as Ryzen AI processors. AMD positioned the release as part of a broader push to make local AI experimentation faster and more cost-efficient by leveraging existing hardware.
Separately, networking firm Cisco announced a collaboration with Philippine digital solutions company Entropy to deploy Cisco Secure AI Factory with Nvidia in the country, marking the first such implementation in the Philippines. The initiative is part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration Program and aims to provide secure, AI-ready infrastructure for telecommunications firms, internet service providers and enterprises.
Cisco said the platform will enable organizations to develop and test AI use cases locally, including network automation, predictive maintenance, broadband analytics and potential applications in transportation, health care and public safety. Entropy said the partnership will allow it to process large volumes of data securely and at scale for mission-critical telecom operations.
The announcement comes as Philippine organizations increase their AI ambitions. Cisco cited its AI Readiness Index 2025, which found that half of surveyed organizations expect AI workloads to rise by more than 50 percent over the next three to five years, while only about half are building the power and infrastructure capacity needed to support that growth.
In the mobile sector, Taiwan-based chip designer MediaTek unveiled two new processors, the Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500, targeting flagship and premium smartphones. The company said the chips are designed to boost performance, energy efficiency, gaming and on-device AI capabilities.
The Dimensity 9500s uses a 3-nanometer process and an all-big-core CPU design, paired with an Immortalis GPU and an upgraded neural processing unit for generative AI and multimodal applications. MediaTek said it supports advanced imaging features such as 8K video recording and real-time motion tracking. The Dimensity 8500, built on a 4-nanometer process, focuses on power efficiency and gaming performance while extending AI features to a wider range of premium devices.
These announcements reflect a broad push by global technology suppliers to position the Philippines as both a market and a development base for AI, spanning personal computers, data centers and consumer devices.
