TECON Suape, International Container Terminal Services Inc.’s (ICTSI) operation in the Port of Suape, Brazil, received its second consecutive Green Company Seal from the Government of Pernambuco for adopting sustainable practices aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
Tecon Suape is one of 16 organizations to receive the certification this year. The state government awards this seal to businesses that implement sustainable practices and promote actions within the ESG framework. The terminal operates as a logistics hub within the Port of Suape, matching regional cargo transport with state-monitored environmental metrics.
The Green Company Seal Program was established by State Law No. 16.112/2017. A joint commission manages the program, consisting of the Secretariat of the Environment, Sustainability and Fernando de Noronha, the State Environmental Agency, the Commercial Board of Pernambuco, and the Secretariat of Professional Development and Entrepreneurship. The initiative encourages businesses to combine economic growth with environmental preservation and social inclusion.
The certification follows ongoing operational updates to improve efficiency and maintain compliance with sustainable development standards. Management states these processes aim to meet operational responsibilities toward society, clients, and shareholders. The seal is valid for two years.
Tecon Suape updates its logistics infrastructure through technical adjustments and standardized business practices. These operational measures support Pernambuco’s regional production chain and align with regulatory updates within the Brazilian port sector.
Tecon Suape S.A. (TSSA) began in April 2001, when ICTSI won a 30-year concession to develop, construct, and manage the Suape Container Terminal. It is the largest container-handling facility in Pernambuco, serving agricultural and industrial sectors in northern and northeastern Brazil via direct access to primary road networks.
