Teen assassin sent on UK murder mission by Iranian proxy jailed for 20 years

  • Norwegian footballer Johannes Kongsnes Natland has been jailed for 20 years for conspiracy to murder.
  • Natland, 19, agreed to assassinate an unknown target in England for €25,000 on behalf of an Iran-backed Swedish crime gang.
  • Armed police arrested Natland at a hotel in Huddersfield two days after he arrived in the UK, seizing two guns and 12 live bullets.
  • Court evidence revealed Natland bragged about the planned contract killing to his girlfriend, saying: “I can finally kill someone and it’s perfect as I get money to do it.”
  • Sentencing Natland at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb said that he would have carried out the hit had police intervention not prevented the plan.
