An 18-year-old boy was found hanging from the ceiling of a house in the Lal Bagh area of Azadpur in north-west Delhi, the police said on Sunday.
According to the police, a PCR call regarding the incident was received at the Adarsh Nagar police station on the intervening night of May 23 and 24.
After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot, where the teenager was found hanging with the help of a cloth. The crime team inspected the spot and took photographs as part of the investigation.
The victim was shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The police said the body had been kept in the mortuary and inquest proceedings had been initiated as per law. Further investigation is underway.
A cop said the female friend of the boy was also being questioned.
