Teen girl found dead at Sungai Buloh home

A 13-year-old girl was found dead at a residence in Sungai Buloh, with police investigating under the Child Act for alleged abuse or neglect.

SUNGAI BULOH: A 13-year-old girl was found dead at a residence here.

Police received information that the victim was found unconscious at 6.27 pm.

A medical officer from Sungai Buloh Hospital confirmed the victim had died at the scene.

The body was taken to the hospital’s Forensic Department for a post-mortem.

“Statements have been recorded from three witnesses and further investigations are ongoing,” said Sungai Buloh district police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor.

Police have opened an investigation paper under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

The section pertains to the alleged abuse, neglect, abandonment or exposure of a child in a manner likely to cause physical or emotional injury.

Members of the public with information are urged to come forward to assist.
