- Norwegian footballer Johannes Kongsnes Natland, 19, has been found guilty of conspiracy to murder in England, having agreed to kill an unknown target for 25,000 euro (£21,500).
- Natland was arrested at a Huddersfield hotel in March last year, two days after arriving in the UK, where armed police seized two guns and 12 live bullets.
- He was recruited by a 17-year-old known as "Generalen", who has since been convicted in Norway, and was working for the proscribed Swedish Foxtrot gang, which is backed by the Iranian regime.
- Despite claiming he intended to shoot himself in the foot to escape the plot, an Old Bailey jury found Natland guilty after hearing he had repeatedly lied and tried to influence his girlfriend's testimony.
- Natland had previously boasted to friends and his girlfriend about getting money to kill someone, stating he was going on a "crazy mission" and that "life will be wonderful" if he wasn't caught.
