SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Sessions Court on Friday set July 27 for mention of a case involving an undocumented 19-year-old man accused of raping a 61-year-old woman in March.
Judge Roslinda Razali set the date pending the victim's latest medical report and rejected the guilty plea of the accused, Alimanja Aroiski, until the mention date.
Alimanja is accused of breaking into the victim's house through a window in Taman Megah at 1.30am on March 21 before committing the alleged rape under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.
The court heard that the accused allegedly threatened the victim with a pair of scissors, demanded money and jewelery, and then choked, punched, and tied her up.
Alimanja was sentenced by the same court on Thursday to 14 years' jail from his March 21 arrest date and eight strokes of the cane after pleading guilty to a separate charge of robbery and causing hurt to the victim.
