- A 16-year-old boy has been found guilty of attempted murder after stabbing a 15-year-old girl in the back at Thorpe St Andrew School in Norfolk on 11 March.
- King's Lynn Crown Court heard that the defendant harboured a dangerous obsession with fictional serial killers and had written notes detailing his hatred for women, misanthropy and plans to kill up to five people.
- The victim described feeling a sensation like a punch before realising she was injured and seeking help from a teacher, following which the school went into lockdown and armed police responded.
- The jury deliberated for less than four hours before convicting the teenager, who had already admitted to wounding with intent and possessing a knife on school premises.
- Mr Justice Lickley remanded the boy in custody and warned him that he faces a custodial sentence of considerable length when he is sentenced on 18 December.
