Teen on bond, father and sister fined for injuring sibling

KOTA KINABALU: An 18-year-old boy was placed under a two-year good behaviour bond, while his father and sister were each fined RM2,000 for injuring their 12-year-old sibling.

Rayner Riset, 43, and Arizona Nerence Rayner, 23, pleaded guilty with the teenager before the Sessions Court after their charges were reduced.

The youth was placed on a RM2,000 bond without deposit, while the others were fined without default sentences.

The offence occurred on Jan 21 at a house in Kampung Mansiang, Manggatal.

They were initially charged under the Children Act but were discharged and acquitted after the charge was reduced to a lesser offence under the Penal Code.
