Teenage boy claims he was sexually harassed by mosque attendant

A TEENAGE boy claimed he was sexually harassed by a mosque attendant while travelling in his car, last Wednesday.

Hulu Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Ibrahim Husin said police received a report from the 15-year-old victim at 3.41 pm.

“The results of the investigation found that the teenager got into the car of a 44-year-old local man from the Bukit Sentosa bus station to a mosque to meet his friend.

“The victim got to know the suspect while staying at the mosque in question since December last year,” he said when contacted by Buletin TV3 last night.

Ibrahim said that the results of the investigation found that the suspect, who works at the mosque in Bukit Sentosa, committed the act while in his car, in addition to sending obscene messages to the victim’s mobile phone.

Acting on information, he said, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Hulu Selangor District Police Headquarters (IPD) arrested the suspect at 12.30 midnight yesterday at his home in Bukit Sentosa, Rawang.

“A check found that the man had no previous records and was remanded for seven days until next Wednesday to assist in the investigation.

“The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” he said.

Convicted offenders can be jailed for up to 20 years or punished with whipping. - October 18, 2025
