Teenage car wash attendant takes down axe-wielding man in Florida

A teenage car wash attendant in Florida tackled and subdued a man threatening him with an axe.

Surveillance video shows 36-year-old Bryce Thayer approaching the Tidal Wave Auto Spa in Ocala, Florida, on the evening of Sunday, March 8, and threatening two staff members with a weapon when he was told to leave the property.

One, an 18-year-old, lunged at Thayer and was able to bring him to the ground before his colleague was able to wrestle the axe from Thayer’s grip.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene around 8.30pm and found the suspect restrained by the pair.

A search of the suspect turned up drug paraphanalia and he is currently being held at the Marion County jail.
