
A FORM Two student tragically died after his motorcycle collided with a car at a junction in Jalan Parit Baru, Jeram, in Kuala Selangor yesterday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 11.30am when the teenager, riding a Yamaha Y15, allegedly struck a Toyota Vios driven by a 41-year-old woman who could not stop in time at the intersection.
Superintendent Azaharudin Tajudin, the district police chief, confirmed that police received notification of the incident at 12.15pm.
He explained that investigations indicated the motorcycle crashed into the stationary car, causing severe head injuries to the rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The motorcycle collided with a car that was unable to stop at the junction. The rider sustained fatal head injuries and was confirmed deceased at the scene,” he said.
The teenager’s body was transported to Hospital Tanjong Karang for a post-mortem examination. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
