A 15-year-old boy drowned after slipping while bathing at the Gunung Ledang waterfall, with his body recovered by members of the public before rescue teams arrived

TANGKAK: A teenage boy drowned after slipping while bathing at the Gunung Ledang waterfall here.

The victim, 15-year-old Muhammad Zaffran Abu Samah, was pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health personnel.

Tangkak Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Fazlan Maraman said the boy had been bathing with two friends when the incident occurred.

He stated that the victim was recovered by members of the public before the Fire and Rescue Operations Team arrived.

The station received an emergency call regarding the incident at 5.27 pm.

A Fire Rescue Tender and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit with eight personnel were dispatched to the scene.

The team conducted monitoring at the location before the victim’s body was handed over to police for further action.
