A 16-year-old filed a report alleging that a police officer with the rank of inspector had sexually assaulted her at a police station in Kedah on Wednesday.
The girl who reported the incident three days later said that a police officer in his 30s had sexually assaulted her in his office at one of the state's district police headquarters around the time of 6.30 o'clock.
According to UtusanTV, the police officer initially brought the victim to the IPD to help with the investigation of a rape case involving her that was allegedly perpetrated by her stepfather.
"While inside the room, the inspector—who is also the investigating officer looking into the teen girl's case—told the victim he wanted to check her genitalia.
"The victim was sitting on a chair and the police officer requested her to spread her legs to assist the examination."
The victim was then instructed to lie on the bed in the room naked while the inspector held her private part. But at the same time, the officer allegedly lost control and raped her.
The police officer gave the excuse that the gadget supposedly used to inspect the victim's condition had failed to function properly. Despite being terrified, the victim was powerless to stop the inspector from sexually assaulting her.
The victim asserted that the assault lasted for about 30 minutes before she was instructed to change into new clothes, as well as being informed that the case had not been resolved and was told to return for further investigation.
Following the report lodged last Saturday, the source stated that the victim, who dropped out of school, had testified at the IPD and undergone a hospital evaluation. The linens and pillows were also found to have some semen traces, according to a police forensic unit team that investigated the scene of the incident.
The report and the officer's arrest were confirmed by Inspector General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, who declined to speak further while the investigation was ongoing.
