
KUALA LUMPUR: Telupid is one of the happiest district councils in Malaysia, according to the Malaysia Happiness Index 2025, The Star reported.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming (pic) said the top-ranked district councils were Lipis and Cameron Highlands (Pahang), followed by Kuala Krai (Kelantan).
Other districts that made the list included Bandar Baharu (Kedah), Kuala Pilah (Negri Sembilan), Jerantut (Pahang), Jelebu (Negri Sembilan), and Telupid (Sabah).
Meanwhile, the happiest town councils were Bintulu (Sarawak), Temerloh (Pahang), Johor Baru (Johor), Port Dickson (Negri Sembilan), Jasin (Melaka), Pontian (Johor), Ampang Jaya (Selangor), and Batu Pahat (Johor).
Nga, who launched the World Happiness Day celebration at his Ministry on Thursday, said 75 per cent of towns in Malaysia had achieved a happy level, with ongoing government efforts contributing to a more harmonious and inclusive community.
