A man was slashed by a temple priest after he had insisted on parking in front of a Chinese temple in Kampung Kuala Kuang, Perak.
According to a report by China Press, the incident took place at 3pm on Tuesday (November 26), at the Sam Sean Temple.
The temple’s chairman, Liu, shared that the victim had allegedly insisted on parking his car at a prohibited area in front of the temple. The priest, who is said to be a bit temperamental but hardworking, ended up slashing the victim with a parang, out of anger.
Liu stressed that the area where the man insisted on parking has always been prohibited and there were many other parking spaces near the temple, yet the man chose to park his car there.
The victim has been hospitalised in Ipoh, with injuries so severe that his bones are visible.
While the temple council holds an emergency meeting to discuss how to handle this matter, the priest has allegedly surrendered himself to the authorities and is currently in detention.
Liu added that he has yet to see the priest since the incident happened, hence he does not have all the details.
The parang involved in the slashing, which the priest uses for chores around the temple, has also allegedly been taken by the police to assist in investigations into this matter.
