Temple and ashram do their part to help Myanmar quake victims

THE Devi Shri Karumaariamman Temple in Jalan Kuala Garing, Rawang and the Kri Sakthi Nyaenthira Ashram have collected clothes, food parcels and medical items to help the victims of the recent Myanmar earthquake.

Temple secretary, M. Vivekananthan said the items collected will be handed over to Myanmar via the embassy in Kuala Lumpur next week.

The minister counsellor Hla Thida Lynn and the embassy’s first secretary were at the ashram to inspect the relief goods.

Also present was Shiva Shri KKM Krishna Moorthy who is the ashram founder.

“We understand the hardship the people in Myanmar are facing and wanted to do what we can to help.

“We will continue to pray for them,” said Vivekananthan, who also expressed his appreciation to the community for their contributions.– April 10, 2025
