Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag made changes to his team as they took on Brighton in the Premier League on Thursday.

The Red Devils played out an intense clash with the Albion, who they had beaten on penalties in the FA Cup semi final two weeks ago.

This time, Brighton were the ones who came out on top, winning 1-0 through an Alexis Mac Allister penalty at the death.

Pre-game, ten Hag explained his changes, which included Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Marcel Sabitzer dropping to the bench.

He told Sky Sports: "Tactically, sure, but also the load. Sunday we have another game.

We've already had a lot of games and you want to keep everyone fit, we have some tough weeks coming.

"We have six games to go. We also have a cup final [FA Cup], so yeah, we need to have everybody onboard."
