A fire destroyed a coastal resort in southeastern Bangladesh on Saturday morning, killing 10 people and injuring four others, officials confirmed.
The blaze broke out at the Tuptup Resto and Resort in Inani, situated within Cox’s Bazar district near the Bay of Bengal.
The area is a popular destination for local holidaymakers.
Syed Mohammad Morshed Hossain, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defense in the district, said the flames quickly spread through the three-storey wooden structure.
Children were among those killed in the incident, though further details were not provided.
It currently remains unclear what caused the fatal fire.
