  • Nearly 500 people were seriously injured and 10 riders were killed in collisions involving e-scooters in Great Britain in 2025, out of an estimated 1,484 total casualties.
  • These figures represent an increase from 2024, when 428 people were seriously injured and six were killed in e-scooter-related incidents.
  • While overall road fatalities in Great Britain declined by 3 per cent to 1,556 in 2025, the number of people seriously injured or killed increased by 4 per cent to 29,911.
  • The use of private e-scooters remains illegal in public spaces, and the government plans to consult on updated regulations and has launched a new road safety strategy aiming to reduce deaths and serious injuries by 65 per cent by 2035.
  • The RAC highlighted that little progress has been made in reducing road harm, with an average of four people still losing their lives on British roads daily.
