SHAH ALAM, April 4 — The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graced the Ramadan bazaar at Stadium Shah Alam with a visit yesterday.
Dressed in a green baju kurung, Her Royal Highness also brought along a tiffin carrier of the same colour, in support of the campaign to reduce plastic usage.
Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin spent an hour purchasing various dishes for fast-breaking, as well as stopping by to chat with traders and visitors to the bazaar.

One such trader, char koay teow seller Zam Azmir Ngah Rashlin, 39, expressed surprise at seeing Her Royal Highness stop by his stall.
“I was completely caught unawares, and certainly trembling as I cooked and prepared the dish Her Royal Highness had ordered.
“The Tengku Permaisuri also asked several questions concerning char koay teow. It was an honour to have prepared the meal for Her Royal Highness’ fast-breaking,” he said.

Meanwhile, stuffed tofu seller Mohd Ikbal Samsiran, 26, said he did not immediately recognise Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin when Her Royal Highness stopped by his stall.
This was the first instance of serving a member of the Selangor royal family, after nearly six years as a food trader.
“This is the first time I have served such a special buyer. Her Royal Highness purchased two orders of stuffed tofu, so I hope it is to the Tengku Permaisuri’s liking,” he said.
