Tenom DAP backs Noorita for Kemabong

Tenom: DAP Tenom voiced strong support for Senator Noorita Sual to be the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Kemabong state seat in the coming State Election.

The endorsement was made in conjunction with the launch of the Melalap DUN Election Machinery by PKR, held at Dataran Malleh, Tenom Town. It was attended by key party leaders, including Nurul Izzah Anwar, Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) / Co-Director of the Central Election Department (JPRP), Datuk Ts.

Mustapha Sakmud, Chairman of the Sabah PKR Leadership Council of PKR, Member of the PKR Central Leadership Council, and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, among others.

Noorita made history by winning the Tenom parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14). Although she did not defend the seat in GE15, her performance showed her leading in the Kemabong DUN area.

The woman and the only Indigenous leader from Tenom is a Senator.

A native of Kemabong from the Murut Tahol tribe, she is a Christian.

During her term as MP for Tenom, Noorita brought in projects worth hundreds of millions of ringgit, including:The Kemabong-Rundum Road Upgrade Project spanning 28.5 km and 5 bridges worth RM201 million.Construction of the Mukim Ulu Tomani-Bakuku Road spanning 35.6 km worth RM189 million.Construction of the Tenom District Sports Complex worth RM8 million.Channeling funds for infrastructure projects (45.04pc), welfare & NGOs (25.26pc), and community & economic programs (16.50pc) including sports, religious affairs, women, youth, and community service.Contributing to education (5.36pc), particularly funding assistance and school supplies in Tenom.
