- His death was announced by his son, actor and singer Jason Donovan, who stated he passed away peacefully on Saturday, 18 July, in Melbourne, Australia.
- Jason Donovan, alongside his brother Paul, described their father as a “huge character, larger than life” and their “best friend”.
- Terence Donovan was widely recognised for his roles in popular Australian soaps, including playing Doug Willis in Neighbours and Al Simpson in Home and Away.
- His extensive acting career also featured parts in television series such as Division 4 and Cop Shop, and films including Breaker Morant.
