- Tesla is recalling 173 of its RWD Cybertruck Long Range vehicles due to faulty brake rotors that could cause the wheels to dislodge.
- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued the recall notice, indicating that brake rotor stud holes may crack and allow the stud to separate from the wheel hub.
- Affected vehicles may exhibit vibration or noise before wheel stud separation, though the cracking itself might not be detected.
- Tesla has stated it is not aware of any collisions, fatalities or injuries related to this issue and will replace the wheel hubs and rotors on affected vehicles at no cost.
- This recall is one of nearly a dozen for the Cybertruck, which has previously faced recalls for issues including its accelerator, trim, inverter, reverse cameras and font size.
