PASIR PUTEH: The Malaysia-Thailand border is open as usual despite an explosion in Gualosira, Pasemas District, Sungai Golok, Southern Thailand, yesterday, says Kelantan police chief Datuk Zaki Harun.
He said this was because the incident did not involve locals and happened in Narathiwat Province, but police, he added, had tightened security over cross-border vehicle movements.
“The police, along with several other enforcement agencies stationed at border entry points, are conducting strict inspections on every vehicle entering and leaving the border,” he said here today.
“I would like to advise the public intending to go to Sungai Golok to be cautious and ensure they take precautions for their safety,” he said.
