Thai PM Anutin confirms meeting with Cambodia’s Hun Manet at ASEAN summit in Cebu, prioritising sovereignty and national interests

BANGKOK: Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Thursday that he would meet his Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet during the upcoming ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, Xinhua reported.

“There will definitely be a meeting, but it may not be a bilateral one,” Anutin said, when interviewed by reporters before setting off for the Philippines to attend the 48th ASEAN Summit.

Safeguarding Thailand’s sovereignty and the interests of the Thai people will always be the top priority when dealing with the issue of Thai-Cambodia relations, Anutin reaffirmed.

The 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings are scheduled to be held in Cebu, the Philippines, under the theme of “Navigating Our Future, Together.”
