Based on reports some time last week, Thailand revealed that the reason Taylor Swift is only visiting Singapore in the SEA region for her Eras Tour is because a deal was made.
The S$4 million deal ensured that she would make Singapore her only stop. Thai PM Srerttha Thavisin also said that if he knew of such arrangements, he would have brought the shows to Thailand.
He also noted that the country would need to fork out about 500 million bhat, but it would be worth it.
Since then, he has noted that Thailand will be following the footsteps of Singapore and plans to subsidize future Taylor Swift concerts in the country.
“This will boost sponsorship and tourism in Thailand. And it is not only Taylor Swift but other international recording artistes with a strong following.
“If we want the likes of Swift, Beyonce, and Coldplay to perform in Thailand, we have to provide great incentives for their concerts to happen”, he said.
