Thailand has announced a major shift in its entry requirements for foreign travelers. After extending the suspension of the arrival and departure card requirement until April 30, 2025, the country will no longer continue this suspension beyond that date. Instead, starting May 1, 2025, all foreign visitors arriving by air, land, and sea will be required to fill out a digital version of the arrival and departure card, known as the T.M.6 form.

This move comes after the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports decided to replace the traditional paper-based form with an online version. According to Bangkok Post, Natthriya Thaweevong, the Ministry's permanent secretary, stated that the new digital T.M.6 form will be used for tracking tourists during their stay in Thailand. This digital shift is aimed at enhancing the country's security measures and boosting foreign tourist confidence amid concerns over safety.

Mongkon Wimonrat, the Ministrys deputy permanent secretary, emphasized that the digital T.M.6 card will take priority over other forms of entry screening to avoid confusion for visitors. The online form will be available for free and is mandatory for all foreign arrivals. This initiative aligns with Thailand's efforts to streamline entry procedures while ensuring more efficient tracking of visitors.
