PETALING JAYA: PAS will remain loyal to Perikatan Nasional despite a suggestion by a DAP veteran for the party to cooperate with the unity government, says its deputy president, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
Tuan Ibrahim said PAS would never break its promises and betray its voters by leaving PN, Utusan Malaysia reported.
“We have no personal issues (with DAP) but we will stick to our promises made to the rakyat during the (GE15) campaign period, and we will not deceive the voters (by leaving PN),” he was quoted as saying.
Tuan Ibrahim was commenting on a suggestion by Lim Kit Siang in a blog post on Monday that the unity government should extend an offer to PAS to cooperate in the upcoming state elections.

Read more Last week, a meeting between Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and PAS central committee member Nik Abduh Nik Aziz in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, sparked speculation of cooperation between the party and the unity government.
Anwar also said the government is ready to cooperate with the Kelantan government to resolve the water supply problem that has been plaguing the state for decades.
Separately, Tuan Ibrahim called on the government to reverse its decision to withdraw its appeal against the High Court ruling on Sarawakian Jill Ireland’s right to use the word “Allah” in her religious education.
He said the government should be on the same page as the National Fatwa Committee by prohibiting non-Muslims from using the word “Allah”.
