- The Beach Boys have cancelled further shows on their comeback tour just a day before they were scheduled to go back out on the road.
- Gigs scheduled in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and South Carolina between 24 and 27 September appear to no longer be going ahead.
- Univest Performance Center in Quakertown said a concert on 25 September had been cancelled due to “circumstances beyond the control” of the venue, with the same reason being cited by the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach when it announced the cancellation of the Beach Boys show on 27 September.
- It comes after a string of summer tour dates were postponed by the band in July, as frontman Mike Love said he needed time to “recharge”.
- The current tour coincides with the band celebrating the 60th anniversary of their seminal 1966 album Pet Sounds.
