The Defender Vertex Is A New Adventure-Centric Variant

The Land Rover Defender Vertex gets some exterior enhancements to emphasize ruggedness.

The Land Rover Defender gets a new variant that emphasizes its adventurous side and it’s called the Defender Vertex. Dropping the ‘Land Rover’ from the name of the car is in line with the company’s current strategy of treating each of its sub-brands as distinct entities. The new Defender Vertex includes an Extended Exterior Pack which includes a bunch of new paint finishes, accessory options, upgraded powertrain options, and a six seat configuration with a new Trophy Edition theme too. It’s all about customization at this level.

The first thing that comes through is the change in the bumpers. The Defender Vertex features extended bumpers both front and rear. Alongside the new bumpers, you’ll find a large front profiled grille and the fog lamps have been redesigned as well. All this gives the Defender a more muscular stance.

The primary exterior finish is now in Shadow Atlas Matte with the tail door spoiler in gloss black and the recovery eyes and front brake calipers finished in yellow. Other primary exterior options include Fuji White, Santorini Black, Woolstone Green, Borasco Grey and Carpathian Grey, as well as the Patagonia White Matte Wrap. Matte protective film or gloss protective film can be optioned for durability.

The Vertex gets 22″ diamond turned wheels painted in satin dark grey with carpathian grey in contrast. There’s also an option for either a 22″ gloss black or 20″ satin dark grey wheel set.

The interior upholstery options include Windsor Leather, Forged textile, or ultrafabrics. Ebony forged textile is a new accent material too, and it’s made of knitted 100% polyester. Standard equipment on the Defender Vertex is 3-zone Climate Control (4-zone on the 130 model), Cabin Air Purification Plus, Air Quality Sensor, and a domestic plug socket.
