If you looked at the Huawei Mate XT and thought “only if they can make a foldable with an even bigger screen”, well, Huawei has heard you. Introducing the Huawei MateBook Fold, the brand’s foldable laptop that’s set to compete against the likes of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, HP Spectre Fold, and the LG Gram Fold.

As you’ve read in the title, the Huawei MateBook Fold comes with an 18″ display when opened. Laid out in a 4:3 aspect ratio, this panel pushes out a 3.5K resolution (3296×2472), with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Screen-to-body ratio is rated at 92%.

Fold the laptop and you get a 13″ 2472×1648 display laid out in a 3:2 aspect ratio. For video calls, you get an 8MP front camera.

Design-wise, the MateBook Fold measures 1.16kg in weight. As for its thickness, it measures 14.9mm when folded and 7.3mm when opened. Three colour options are available in China for the laptop, namely black, white, and blue.

In China, the Huawei MateBook Fold comes with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. Powering the foldable laptop is a 74.69Wh battery. It’s also got two USB-C ports and six speakers.

In China, the Huawei MateBook Fold is priced from RMB 23,999 (~RM14,272) for the base 32GB+1TB model. The 32GB+2TB model on the other hand is retailed at RMB 26,999 (~RM16,049).
