The recent viral Pork Nasi Kandar has caused a storm on the internet, with PRESMA criticising the invention and citing it as a confusion to Nasi Kandar enthusiasts, as well as being an insult to the food.

Is the invention really offensive? According to a Malaysian man, Mikhail, Pork Nasi Kandar is not confusing and shouldn’t be a confusion at all because it’s self-explanatory. On his TikTok @mikhailhanafi, he shared his take on the Pork Nasi Kandar going viral.

It couldn’t be more self-explanatory

If you mess with our food, Malaysians are quick to turn on their defensive mode and shield the food against you, especially if you’re not one of us. However, this time, the fight is among us due to the mixed reception that the Pork Nasi Kandar has received.

Mikhael also dubbed PRESMA’s statement “stupid” and was baffled when the organisation called the invention “confusing”.

“Girly, the logo is Pumba. You know, the famous Disney pig? And right next to the logo, it says non-halal.”

As if the signs are not obvious enough, Mikhael also pointed out how the food is written on the menu – Nasi Lemak Babi.

“It’s not Fragrant Pandan Rice with scrumptious porcine roasted meat. It’s Nasi Lemak Babi.”

He ended his video by saying, “If you get confused by that, that’s on you”.

Mikhael added that the bigger “crime against humanity” is Char Kuey Teow basah.
