In an era of cloud computing as a part of business lexicon, every tech-first business requires a robust and efficient cloud strategy. A recent survey by Alibaba Cloud found Singapore to be the most prolific adopter of cloud computing in Southeast Asia, with nearly nine in 10 IT decision-makers noting that their companies have been using cloud-based services. After over a decade of cloud transformation, ITDMs are looking for solutions to a new problem – how to manage multiple cloud infrastructures and workloads? With the IT landscape evolving rapidly, CIOs are constantly looking for ways to transform their journey from pocket to the cloud, making operations and infrastructure more straightforward for their organizations.

The cloud powering intelligent transformation
The benefits of the cloud are clear to organizations – it allows for the modernization of IT infrastructures and paves way for digital transformation. During the emergence of cloud, many organizations adopted it to benefit from virtualization and reduced capital expenditure (CAPEX). However, today’s accelerated digital transformation has increased workloads, but what is missing in cloud, is agility.

With an increased volume of data, organizational workloads are becoming more complex. As a result, CIOs are considering going back to native for containerization. However, emerging technologies that are paving a way to an uncharted IT environment may intimidate CIOs given the speed at which IT modernization is occurring. For instance, over a decade ago, solution providers were consulting businesses on challenges within the infrastructure stack. Fast-forward 15 years to today, solution providers are helping businesses solve challenges arising from workloads.

Precision in the cloud
At Lenovo, customers are already benefiting from having precision in the cloud. Managing workload complexities and finding agility requires ITDMs to have a definite cloud strategy – and they are turning to IT solution providers to help bridge the gap between cloud expectations and reality. To have the right cloud strategy, organizations need to pivot back to the drawing board, outline their strategies in detail, set their budgets, as well as master and manage their add-on requirements. Further, when it comes to bringing workloads to the right IT environment, ITDMs need to constructively differentiate between those that are ‘good-to-have’ versus ‘must-have’. The most critical next step is to establish a framework, which can then be followed by putting in place alternatives to manage multiple cloud workloads in the IT environment.

Looking ahead
A hybrid cloud is an optimum solution for organizations to leverage multiple cloud environment workloads. It helps to seamlessly orchestrate an organization’s path to the cloud, from server to software. We provide ample support from design to finish line, enabling organizations to better asses their infrastructure, identify challenges, and deploy the right solutions.

As we look ahead to the next decade of cloud transformation, infrastructure must be agile and flexible enough to meet changing demands. Lenovo enables faster-to-market deployment by offering preconfigured solutions, thoroughly tested, and equipped with industry-leading software. By leveraging as-a-Service offerings, businesses can access smarter infrastructure based on actual requirements and pay only for what they use without any lock-in. Organizations benefit from increased flexibility & security, infrastructure simplicity, time to value, global scalability, legacy workloads, data ownership, and cost control by combining cloud and on-premise solutions. Lenovo will continue to invest in innovation and enhance solutions that can alleviate companies' digitalization pain points in order to make intelligent transformation a seamless reality for organizations of all sizes.
